Al Mazrouei added: "Due to demand, we are running out of warehouses which is why we planned the construction of the new warehouses. 34 warehouses of 250 m2 area and 54 warehouses with 400 m2 of area will be ready by the middle of 2016," he added.
The establishment of new shed, paving of internal roads, establishment of new commercial offices for investors, housing for workers, a sewage desalination plant and other infrastructure projects has added another 3 million square meters to the land of the region bringing the total area to 16 million square meters.

Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Sharjah Airport Free Zone (SAIF Zone) and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) paid a visit to Nabeel perfumes's refurbished corporate headquarters in SAIF Zone recently.
Nabeel Perfumes Group chairman Asghar Adam Ali Ibrahim and managing director Mustafa Adam Ali also accompanied Al Mazrouei. Nabeel Perfumes operates a 200,000+ square feet facility with an installed capacity of over 60 million units a year.
Asghar explained that his group is investing heavily to expand the company's retail footprint. Al Mazrouei assured his full support for the group and congratulated Nabeel Perfumes on its expanded footprint. "SAIF Zone is happy to know that the group is growing rapidly. We congratulate them and offer all our support for their future endeavors", he said after his tour.
While explaining the growth, Asghar said his company has inaugurated 33 out of 40+ stores in the UAE and Gulf markets this year.
"We introduce 15 new products every year and export almost 60 per cent to international markets. In addition, we are launching three to four outlets every month and the same trend is expected to continue until June 2016", added Asghar.
Nabeel perfumes has hubs in India, United Kingdom, United States, Australia and all the Gulf countries to speed up their deliveries. Sharjah is the ideal market to introduce the PAS777 as there is a huge trade volume of used auto engines and spare parts in the emirate, according to Maqbool Ahmad Shad, executive director of Kaiho Middle East (KME), the local subsidiary of KAIHO Sangyo Co. Ltd in Japan.
PAS777 stands for Publicly Available Specification and it labels and certifies the condition of used automotive engines and any related transmission units.
"In the PAS777, issued by BSI (British Standard Institute) Inc, we disclose information about the used engines; mileage, internal and external condition, etc. This information from the inspection is passed on to the customer prior to the purchase of used engines," he explained.
Maqbool Shad was talking to Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF ZONE) and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA), during the latter's visit to KME office in SAIF Zone.
"We want to change the used engine market with the PAS777. It will lay down the product's specifications and will prevent cheap and low quality products from being traded. Hence, it ensures quality control of the market by providing the customers with the best quality product available", he added.
KAIHO Sangyo Co. Ltd is one of the biggest auto mobile recycling companies in Japan that exports 1000 containers (20 Feet container) annually to 76 countries.
"We alone import 200 containers per year to SAIF Zone", Maqbool added.
Sharjah is one of the biggest markets in the region for used auto engines. However, there is no price difference between a 30,000 km run-engine and a 300,000 km engine at the moment; all are being traded for the same price. This poses a disadvantageous situation for the customer as there is no significant difference between engines of varying quality. Through PAS 777 certification, we can avoid such a situation", Maqbool explained.
During the discussion, Al Mazrouei said that the UAE is Japan's 5th largest export destination of passenger motor cars in the world creating a huge scope for used engine trade. He also pointed out that the general trade between the UAE and Japan has been prospering.
"We had visited some automobile companies in Japan including Hino to explore the Japanese auto market in order to utilise their expertise for the benefit of both the sides," he said. Al Mazrouei pointed out that Hino, the largest manufacturer of trucks and buses in Japan, has invested heavily in SAIF Zone.

The expansion, which is expected to be completed by mid-2016, will help enhance the final product in terms of quality and cost effectiveness," Qamar Aziz, managing director of Blend Group, said after signing an MoU in this regard with SAIF Zone Authority.
"We have been successful in expanding our operation in trading of industrial chemicals since 2011. We are now setting up a plant for manufacturing various chemicals for industrial use as well," he added.
Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA), who signed the MoU from SAIF Zone side, congratulated Blend Group and assured all the support for them in their expansion activities.
Al Mazrouei noted that the SAIF Zone has been registering consistent growth during the first half of 2015 and the free zone has become a destination of choice for high quality traders and service providers.
The group, which was formed in 2011 as a joint venture of the Skyline Group & Aziz Group, manufactures high-quality color, white, black, additive, fillers and plastic master batches to cater to the growing local and international markets.
"The Blend group's current production is over 1200 tons per month and with the new expansion in place, the production will increase to 2500 tons in a month", elaborated Qamar Aziz .
Qamar Aziz added: "The new investment will help to further strengthen Blend's position and expand its offerings to the plastic industry worldwide and aid the group to expand its focus to new emerging markets; currently the group caters to markets in the GCC and African subcontinent, but once this new facility is up and running it will support the group's plans to expand its reach to the European and later to the American and Canadian markets as well."
The new manufacturing unit will include a section for the manufacturing of calcium carbonate and master batches, research and testing labs to maintain the quality and controls, inward and outward logistics as well as administrative blocks. The new set up will also have an enhanced quality control lab process like colour matching, melt flow testing as well as the checking of the ash content of the product and moisture content through qualified and experienced engineers.
The group also has plans to venture into ink production and a trading division which will be focusing on chemicals and polymer products.

In Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Baroda and Surat, the team participated in an international business forum entitled "Taking Business Globally".

Established in 1995, the Free Zone now houses about 7,000 businesses from 149 countries. These include some of the world's leading logistics and light manufacturing companies.

In 2014, two leading credit rating agencies, Moody's and Standard & Poor's, accorded Sharjah sovereign credit ratings of A-3 and A with stable outlook. Those ratings compare favourably with many other emerging markets with strong economic fundamentals, underlining Sharjah's position as an appealing destination for foreign investment.
SAIF Zone has a wide range of state-of-the-art business solutions for companies in the fields of light manufacturing, consumer durables, medium manufacturing, media and IT services. These include fully furnished executive offices which cover utility fees and parking space, pre-built warehouses, storage areas, plots of land, temporary warehouses and parking areas for containers and bunkers. SAIF Zone has recently built 127 units of ware houses of different sizes .
Sharjah has three deep-water ports situated on either side of the Straits of Hormuz, the Khalid Port and the Hamriyah Port along the Arabian Gulf, and the Khorfakkan Port along the Gulf of Oman. In addition to the sea freight services available in the three ports, traders and manufacturers can also benefit from Sharjah's unique location which facilitates inter-modal transport flexibility, combining air links with sea freight handling, thereby cutting freight cost and saving on shipping time.
