British-owned Advanced Armour Engineering (AAE) has signed a long-term agreement with Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF ZONE) to establish two high-tech factories with a total working area of more than 50,000 square feet.

Specialized in defense and security, transport, architectural metal work, construction equipment, oil and gas equipment sector and maritime, AAE currently exports to over 12 countries and is firmly seen as the partner of choice of many of the leading blue-chip OEMs in the region.

"We welcome AAE to SAIF ZONE which has emerged as an ideal business hub. We see more industries and more trading companies from Europe and from Russia coming

to Sharjah. I hope, AAE's new initiative in SAIF ZONE will increase its output and expand its network," said Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF ZONE and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, after signing the contract. Simon Hurst, General Manager of AAE, revealed that plans were afoot to inaugurate the facility in June 2016.

"The pre-built facilities will be reconfigured to accommodate AAE's large-scale specialized processing machines," he added.

AAE is fully conversant in all grades of ballistic steel and metals and works closely with high-strength, wear-resistant and armour-grade steels, he said. 'Our highly trained technicians have more than 25 years' experience in materials processing and design optimization in both ballistic and blast mitigating steels."
