The Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF ZONE) recently played host to a high-level trade and investment delegation from the Astrakhan region of Russia.
Sergey N. Krzhanovskiy, deputy chairman of the government and Minister of Industry, Transport and Natural Resources of Astrakhan region led the delegation to the Free Zone where the team met with Saud Salim Al-Mazrouei, Director of SAIF ZONE and Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) to explore areas of bilater al cooperation.
Giving an overview of the trade activities of Astrakhan region, Krzhanovskiy said it is a convenient launch pad for Russian businesses to enter foreign markets. The delegation was impressed with the mode of operation of SAIF ZONE which has over 6,800 companies from 149 countries and expressed their desire to cooperate with the Free Zone in different avenues.
After the meeting, Saud Salim Al Mazrouei said: "Astrakhan has been cooperating with different countries and I believe that such cooperation will give the entrepreneurs an opportunity to establish fruitful relations in both ways. We will cooperate with Astrakhan in different sectors in the near future ."

Other SAIF ZONE participants who took part in the discussion held at the Business Center in the Free Zone included Commercial Director Mohamed Al Mahmoud and Deputy Commercial Director Raed Bukhatir.
