SAIF ZONE expresses solidarity with the nation on UAE Flag Day

Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF ZONE) joined citizens and private and public sector organizations across the UAE in celebrating Flag Day on November 3, to commemorate the day His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the President of the UAE.

Hoisting the national flag at the Free Zone's headquarters, Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF ZONE remarked: "The national flag is a symbol of our respect to the State; it represents national pride, patriotism and unity. We, at SAIF ZONE, are happy to celebrate this historic occasion by partaking in the initiative to fly the national flag simultaneously across the country."

The day, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development in collaboration with several governmental and private institutions and bodies in the state, is being marked under the slogan 'Raise it High ... Raise it Proud'.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, declared November 3 as Flag Day last year.

The UAE flag was unfurled and raised at all public offices, wrapped around several public buses, and stretched across villas and apartment buildings to show solidarity with the country's Flag Day celebrations.

Emiratis and expatriates alike showed their love for the UAE as the flag was hoisted in unison across the seven emirates. Sheikh Mohammed led the nation's celebrations at the Union House, where the flag was first hoisted 42 years ago. He, along with students, watered the Union Tree, which he had planted a year ago.

Similar flag-hoisting ceremonies were hosted across all federal and local government entities in the UAE, along with events in schools, universities and private establishments.
