 SAIF ZONE employees learn the finer points of healthy living

​To educate its employees on a diverse range of topics ranging from health and fitness to weight and stress management, Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF ZONE) has been conducting a variety of monthly workshops on specific topic areas. The goal of these sessions, each delving into a new topic every month, is to increase employees' knowledge of health risks, nutrition and physical activity, and provide them with ways to protect and improve it.

The subjects covered in the recent past included Sleeping and Health; Reading Food Labels, Women's Health during Pregnancy and Delivery, Cancer Prevention and Vitamin D Deficiency amongst others. In its latest initiative to educate its employees about the importance of their own health, SAIF ZONE partnered with the Health Promotion department of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah whose 'Employee Health' campaign provided the Free Zone employees the opportunity to practice and focus on a variety of healthy habits to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

"Encouraging healthy eating habits, exercising and quitting smoking are just a few of the pillars of the 'Employee Health' campaign which aims to help employers get their employees living healthier lives," said Talal Al Midfa, Director (HR & Administration), SAIF ZONE, who helped coordinate and organize the event for all the employees of the Free Zone.

"This campaign will help encourage SAIF ZONE employees to choose healthy alternatives in every aspect of their lives – at home and at work," he said. "When we have a healthy workforce, it is a strong workforce that supports a steady economy. We believe that we will see immediate benefits in employees' health and attitudes thereby contributing to a better bottom line as well. I would like to thank the senior management of SAIF ZONE for taking steps to making our workplace healthier."

The 'Employee Health' campaign adopts a multi-pronged approach and focuses on physical, social and mental well-being. The campaign emphasized the need for building a healthy workplace culture that supports healthy lifestyles.
