Sharjah Airport International Free zone – Celebrating 10 years of successful
partnership
“Dreams have indeed taken wings at the Sharjah Airport International Free zone,
opened under the auspices of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al
Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, SAIF-Zone is
celebrating a decade of success now.”
Started in September 1995, the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone has
completed 10 eventful years and earned accolades from businessmen and opinion
leaders. The 10th Anniversary of the zone has witnessed U.A.E’s first
– ever Airport Free zone accomplishing several milestones of growth and success.
Over the past decade the zone has grown from a mere 55 companies to an
incredible number of more than 3800 companies today, representing 92 countries,
involved in businesses such as Aviation, Industrial, Trading and Services.
To
celebrate the occasion the SAIF-Zone along with its customers hosted its 10th
Anniversary Exhibition which was held at the Expo Center, Sharjah, between the
26 – 28 April 2006, at this exhibition was showcased our customer
products and services.
Under the profound vision and dynamic leadership of His Highness Dr. Sheikh
Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of
Sharjah, the Emirate of Sharjah, the cultural capital of the Arab world, has
today become a thriving business hub in the Middle East. It is indeed a unique
success story of a ‘primarily trading hub’ transforming into a flourishing base
for manufacturing units.
The Emirate today accounts for more than 40% of all Industrial activity in the
U.A.E. Acknowledged throughout the Gulf region as the seat of learning and
culture, colorful history and age old traditions. Despite impressive and
accelerated business growth there has been a deliberate effort to preserve this
history and culture. Sharjah offers cost-effective living, world class
educational options and a booming tourism industry. These benefits and other
initiatives have helped investors across the globe choose Sharjah as their place
to do business.
Not
resting on it’s laurels, the SAIF-Zone for the future is embarking upon an
ambitious growth strategy of expanding new infrastructure spread over 2.5
million square meters of land, committed to the construction of new warehouses
of varied sizes, new state of the art executive office buildings, and businesses
would have the option of leasing land and developing their own infrastructure,
through this expansion the zone would be able to attract an additional 2000
customers. Emphasis would continue to be made on improving their existing
infrastructure and services, such we continue to provide our customers with the
perfect conditions for their business operations.
